It’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Humidity returned in full force Tuesday morning keeping lows in the mid 70s in Tampa. A few showers developed in the deep southerly flow and hugged the coast. More storms are expected to form today as a warm front lifts north and an area of low pressure develops in the Gulf. If we see a good deal of sunshine the atmosphere could become unstable enough to produce a few strong storms with heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty wind. The Storm Prediction Center is watching southern Georgia and the Florida Panhandle for the potential for more widespread severe storms.
A cold front will trail the area of low pressure and move into the northern part of the state. The front will weaken significantly and will only slightly increase our rain chances Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures stay warm through the rest of the week and we could see a few record temperatures broken or tied!
