Philadelphia fans are living up to their reputation this weekend. Not even a downpour before game three could dampen their fiery spirit.
You gotta give credit to devoted Rays fans who made the trip to Philly and took the taunting with a smile and periodically returned the attitude with the help of a cowbell. Phillies hate cowbells. One Rays fan claimed to be related to manager Joe Maddon whose family lives in nearby Hazleton just to avoid the abuse.
Sunday is shaping up to be a better day for outdoor sports. The Eagles fans are filling Lincoln Financial Field under sunny skies and the weather looks much better for game four of the World Series at Citizens Bank Park, albeit a tad bit colder.
Between the games Tampa Bay visitors are taking in the Philadelphia historical sights. We found locals climbing the steps of the Museum of Art where “Rocky” trained. Some posed in front of a monument of the film hero. Liberty Bell Center, Independence Hall and National Constitution Center are also must stops for Floridians.
So far, we haven’t eaten all of the local fare, but we are making strides: Cheese steak with Cheese Whiz, Check! Crab fries from “Chickie’s and Pete’s,” check!
So much more to do and so much more to eat.
