Dockery 4th most powerful person in Orlando, says mag

State Sen. Paula Dockery is considering whether to run for the most powerful job in Florida—governor—but at least she’s got a start. Orlando Magazine just named her the fourth most powerful person in Orlando.

Dockery’s leadership of the giant-killer movement in the state Legislature that defeated the SunRail proposal was the magazine’s main reason.

And yes, the magazine noticed that Dockery is from Lakeland, not Orlando.

“No, she doesn’t live in metro Orlando,” said its online article.

“But Dockery’s ability to persuade her colleagues to kill SunRail for the second straight year had far-reaching effects on Central Florida [and] defeated a solidified base of support that included Orlando’s political and business power structure.”

Dockery is considering whether to challenge Attorney General Bill McCollum in the Republican primary for governor.

FYI, number one on the list was Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer came in fifth.
