Detert, Dockery and Ford back LeMieux

Three state legislators—Sens. Nancy Detert and Paula Dockery and Rep. Clay Ford—have endorsed George LeMieux in the Florida Republican U.S. Senate primary.

The endorsements follow a straw poll held over the weekend in which LeMieux’s opponent Adam Hasner topped the field of four leading candidates for the nomination, but not conclusively, leaving many Republicans still uncertain about the race.

Hasner appears to be leading the race also in backing from big-name party leaders, but LeMieux has also been endorsed by five other state legislators and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour.
