What do you think about the plea deal reached in the Debra Lafave case? Was Debra Lafave’s sentencing too lenient or fair?

All sexual predators should receive the same consideration and sentence; regardless of gender.
This teacher should receive the same jail time a male would receive. No deals should ever be struck when it comes to our children. The law should be the law and upheld, period.

i hate the fact that she got away with wat she did but when u look at the “facts” she is bi-polar watever. she only got away with it from being bi-polar and the fact that the boy and his family wanted to stop the charges. this is rediculous they should have pressed charges against her and put her in jail for ruinning that boys life.

Forgive me for the lateness of my comment. Debra talks about repaying society for her crime. I don’t think that is possible, but I think she could make a valuable contribution in spite of her crime. Very much I would like a book on bipolar syndrome written for a simple person to understand. I would appreciate that. So, Debra, please write that book.

Bipolar disorder is unrelated to being a sexual predator. Mood disorders do NOT make one a predator, sexual or otherwise.
Debra should be in prison for a minimum sentence of one year, with more community service mandated after that prison term.

This is beyond ridiculous.-I agree that her first offense was accounted for and she got what the grand jury decided on. however, this pas house arrest for probation violation is so ridiculous. She is a waitress so I am sure that she is in contact constantly with underage people…I am hoping that somewhat she will sue the probation officer who ordered her to quit her job as I am sure that he is not paying her bills.
Suggest removalThe justice in this case is applied in such a way that it makes us “american” people look like born-idiots.
