Cruz sworn in to State House

Long long-time, local Democrat, party activist and fundraiser Janet Cruz was sworn in this morning as the District 58 member of the state House, replacing Democrat Michael Scionti who accepted a job with President Obama’s administration. Cruz was elected last Tuesday (see here) to represent the district, which covers largely Hispanic West Tampa and Town ‘N Country, as well as Seminole Heights, Wellswood, Egypt Lake, Sulphur Springs and the West Shore business corridor.
