Newt Gingrich, who’s been rising in popularity in Florida as well as the rest of the nation in the GOP presidential race but has had little campaign organization here, is on the verge of announcing an expanded Florida staff including former Hillsborough County GOP Chairman Debbie Cox-Roush and Sarasota-based political consulting veteran Jamie Miller.
Cox-Roush will hold the same position she had with the now-defunct Herman Cain Florida campaign, coordinator of county chairs. Miller said he’s not sure what his title will be, but his job will be in campaign operations.
An announcement expected soon will contain other staff posts as well.
