The governor’s office may have taken talking about yourself in the third person to a new level—writing about yourself in the third person.

That may be understandable, though, because only one of the two people who usually writes press releases is still there.

Press Secretary Erin Isaac sent out a press release tonight announcing that Erin Isaac has been appointed communications director for the governor’s office, replacing Vivian Myrtetus.

Isaac’s press release says:

“Isaac, 29, currently serves as press secretary for Governor Crist. She previously served as press secretary for the Crist-Kottkamp Transition Team and as deputy press secretary for the Charlie Crist for Governor Campaign. Isaac also served as communications director for the Duval County Supervisor of Elections. She graduated from the University of North Florida with degrees in political science and communications.”

She quotes Gov. Charlie Crist talking about her:

“Erin has served the people well as our press secretary and has promoted open access to the government for our people,” said Governor Crist. “She is exceptionally talented, and I am confident she will rise to the occasion of running our communications department.”

... and then quotes herself:

“I am grateful to Governor Crist for the opportunity to continue serving the people of Florida in this administration,” said Isaac.
