This is our weekly roundup of what the rest of the press world is writing about U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam, R-Bartow, who is the only Floridian in either party’s congressional leadership.
It’s been a big week for Putnam’s profile. He lead the rhetorical battle against the House’s version of the Iraq spending bill, which attaches a number of conditions to continued funding for the Iraqi occupation. Playing off that, the paper of record itself, the New York Times, produces a big spread on Putnam. What you may notice about this Times story, if you’re a regular Trib/PCNB reader, is how similar it is to this story, which ran a month ago in The Tribune and remains prominently displayed in the special reports column to your left. We like it when the Gray Lady follows us.
Putnam shows up in this Bob Novak column bemoaning the state of the Bush presidency.
