Have you had luck negotiating anything latetly. I’m not talking about a car deal or a piece of jewelry but something out of the ordinary. If so, let me know.

I am looking for viewers interested in going on camera with us to talk about: 1) how they save money eating out, 2) If you’re a parent, how you save money these days with kids, 3) money saving “back to school” story ideas and 4) anything you’ve been able to successfully negotiate (that saved you money) lately. Thanks!

I traveled with my hubby and two kids recently and it was a nightmare. Having to fly with a two year old used to be bad enough but now with the lines, the security and the waiting endlessly on the runway to take off, it has become almost unbearable. Add to that the new luggage restrictions and I’m looking to stay put for awhile. It’s pretty tough to cram everything you need for a one week vacation into one suitcase each. Call me crazy, but I have yet to fork over one extra dime for extra luggage or overweight luggage. Yes, I have been one of those people holding up the line moving some shoes from one suitcase to the other to dodge the extra fee. Have you had any GOOD or BAD airline experiences recently you would like to share? Feel free. I’m working on a couple of airline related Eight on Your Side stories as we speak!

So I asked for your comments, suggestions, story ideas and guess what everyone wants to talk about? GAS. That is not a shocker but I did find a good little website to help me (and you) save money the next time you fill up. It’s MapQuest. For years, I’ve been using the site to get from point A to point B, but today I found out it has a “Gas Prices” feature. You type in your address or your zip code and it will show you the cheapest gas in your area. What’s even better, is you then click on the map and MapQuest will show you exactly how to get to that gas station. Give it a try and let me know what you think. And keep your comments on ANYTHING CONSUMER coming. I’m just starting to get the hang of this blog thing! S

Can’t you feel it almost everywhere? Spending is down. People are concerned about their future. When will gas prices start heading in the other direction? Money seems to be the hot topic these days and that’s why I’m looking for your MONEY story ideas. Do you have a tip that can save your fellow consumers money? Do you see a trend you think others should know about? I’m wide open to your ideas. If I spot one I want to pursue, I will e-mail you back. Feel free. We’re here to help you. What topics would you like to see me cover? Just let me know! Thanks! Stacie
