If you’ve ever had a sick child in the hospital, you know how scary it can be. Today, you can help make it a little less scary for some kids by donating a new, unwrapped toy during the “Christmas in July” event at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Tampa.
Hospital workers hope to get gift cards, electronics, kid-friendly movies, puzzles, arts and crafts supplies, bubbles, infant toys, crib mobiles, teen games and magazines and more that can used to restock the play rooms and given as presents to children spending their birthdays or holidays in the hospital. One reminder: stuffed animals and any toys made out of rubber or latex cannot be accepted.

St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital treats more than 50,000 kids a year. Sometimes they’re illnesses can force them to grow up too fast. These gifts can ensure they get a chance to play just like any child would.
The Christmas in July event goes until 6 p.m.
