Thoughtful gift idea, on the cheap

Posted Dec 1, 2009 by Janine Dorsey

If you have lots of people to gift this time of year, but not the budget to match, you might want to consider magazine subscriptions.

Amazon.com is offering $5 subscriptions on a limited number of popular titles, just in time for the holidays.

People, Cosmopolitan, House Beautiful, Food & Wine and Sports Illustrated for Kids are among the choices offered for $5 for a year’s subscription.  The page says the offers are only good through Dec. 1st, but when I added a title to my “cart” it reflected the discounted price.

Send a couple of titles to your kids’ school to share in the teacher’s lounge. Provide some fresh reading for your hairdresser’s waiting area. Inspire your child to get up off that couch on onto the basketball court. The possibilities are endless.
