Starting to feel really plump!

Hi. I’m 21 weeks now and really starting to show A LOT.  My appetite is crazy and I’m not eating the healthiest food in the world.  Can’t help it though.  Not much sounds good except pizza, bananas and candy.  Yikes.. that’s not good.  I haven’t gotten on the scale in a few days so I can’t tell you what the grand total for my weight gain is.. but clothes (even the early maternity ones) are starting to fit more snuggly.  I’m finding dresses that don’t have a waistband are my best bet these days.  If you have any good maternity clothes secrets.. feel free to share them.  Till next time…

Hello! I’m really enjoying your motherhood series! My husband and I had a hard time coming up with a name (I teach and most names have been ruined for me(: )We went online to the top 500 baby girl names of 2004 which definately helped! We decided on Peyton. Good luck to you!

good luck. Do you know if it is a boy or girl? I can understand your diet, I ate every thing in site and went from a size 6 maternity to a 16 when I had my daughter 25 years ago My drs were not always happy but she was born at 7.3 and I lost all the weight in 4 weeks.

Hi Stacie. I am in week 11 of my second pregnancy. (I have a 16 month year old). I am really enjoying your segments. As far as maternity clothes go, I can’t stand the maternity stores. I think the best bets are the online stores like gapmaternity, landsend maternity (VERY comfy pants), and target (thank god for Liz Lange). I hit Pea in the Pod for work clothes and nice outfits. Anything black, made of jersey, or that has a tie in the back works for me.

Congratulations!!!  My son is 14 months old.  I actually miss being pregnant!  I was very blessed to have an easy pregnancy/delivery! For nausea, have you tried sea bands?  They worked when I was feeling sick.  I have a unique baby name for you (I love thinking of girl names).  Tegan (tea-gan). My best friend heard it when she was stationed in England.  Good luck and I look forward to reading your updates!!

Congratulations Stacie!  It is so nice what WFLA is doing and many viewers enjoy being able to follow along with your pregnancies.  As for the maternity clothes go…since I have had six children the one thing I have learned is to SHARE clothes with other moms.  I’m not very big and would usually buy small clothes and then towards the last two months I would wear something I just bought for about 2 weeks and then it would be too small….I remember buying larger clothes in my last trimester.  So if you can find someone to share clothes with it increases your wardrobe and frees up some money to spend on your precious new addition!  That is my money saving TIP for the day~  Blessings~

Hi there!! I have an 18 month old girl named Kate.. but thats a relatively common name!

I also suffered from morning sickness the entire 9 months. Preggy pops help some.. and anything with ginger. But ginger sort of made me more nauseous but some people swear by them!! I also had heartburn… oh my gosh the pain of heartburn!! I hope you dont get heartburn 24/7!!! smile (or gallstones! Another unknown, but common side effect of pregnancy!! I had to get my gallbladder removed by emergency surgery TWO days after my baby was born!!)

Stacie,

If you want hip maternity clothes that aren’t expensive, check out Old Navy, especially online.  The clothes arrive in a week and returns are free by mail or you can take them back to the store.  Also, they have styles online the stores didn’t have.  Cute low rise pants and shorts that are more comfortable than the high waisted type, especially as you get bigger, like me!  I’ve only got one more month to go!  Good luck.

I’m almost 18 weeks with my second and am online almost daily trying to find cute maternity clothes. When pregnant with my 3 year old, I didn’t have to work, but now that I’m teaching high school, I have to buy a whole new working wardrobe! Gap, Old Navy, Target, and Motherhood are about the only places where I’ve found semi-attractive clothes. Why is it that clothing manufacturers think just because a woman is pregnant she will settle for a moo-moo?
