Sarasota reduces animal adoption fees

From my inbox…

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services cat population is at capacity, with nearly 100 cats ready for adoption.

To compound the overcrowding problem, it’s litter season, so nursing cats and kittens are being brought to the facility on a daily basis.

To alleviate the situation, Animal Services is offering reduced adoption fees for adult cats that have been in the shelter for more than a month. The cost would be just $20.

Animal Services is located at 8451 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota, and prospective pet parents can visit Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and Sunday from Noon-2 p.m.

Animal Services is also looking for people willing to foster cats and kittens until they can find forever homes. For more information or to view adoptable animals click here or contact Animal Services by calling 941.861.9523.
