I’m about two weeks from my due date (Aug. 6) and I’m completely disorganized. I hear this happens with baby No. 2. (My first, Summer, turns 3 on Aug. 21.) Of course it doesn’t help that every weekend my husband Scott and I think of a million other things we’d rather be doing.
1. Is the baby’s room done? Uh, no. (But hey, he/she will sleep in the cradle the first couple of months anyways.)
2. Are all the baby clothes/blankets washed? Well, some are. (Thanks, mom and sis.)
3. Is my suitcase packed for the hospital? No. (I need something to do during those first couple hours of contractions.)
4. Have I read up on labor/breastfeeding/etc.? No. (I still remember all this, I think.)
5. Is my freezer stocked with pre-made meals to get us through the first couple months? Another no. (Hint for those coming to visit.)
6. Am I ready to hold and kiss my new baby? You bet.
