The holidays are over, the presents are unwrapped and now your kids have new toys strewn about the house. How do you keep up with all the clutter?
“I have to clean up three to four times a day,” said Lisa Galinson-Treitman, a mother of a 4-year-old. “Put all the Legos back in the Legos box, put the blocks back in the block bag.”
Sound familiar? If you’re spending more time than you’d like on cleanup duty, try these tips from Good Housekeeping. It recommends getting a Box4blox, which allows you to pour Legos into the top and the box sorts them by size into various compartments. The container helps your kids find the right size quickly, which means he or she may not dump all of them onto the floor EVERY time.
For stuffed animals, the Boon Oval Animal Bag is recommended by Amy Roberts, an associate editor at Good Housekeeping. “The Boon Animal Bag is great because you can stash all of the extra stuffed animals inside and then it doubles as seating.”
If you still have too many toys lying around, try donating the gently used ones to a day care, after-school program or thrift store. If any of them can be recycled, check out Earth911.com.
