Mary Shedden - Take Two ... And Call Your Mom

Oh nuts, not again!

Another food villain is emerging: pistachios.

The Food and Drug Administration and the California Department of Public Health have launched an investigation into Salmonella contamination in pistachios and pistachio products. And the list of potentially contaminated products continues to grow.

As it did with the recent peanut butter contamination catastrophe, the FDA has created a specific Web site to keep you up to date on products to avoid.

The peanut butter recall site is still going strong. Check it out.

Go look and see if there’s anything in your pantry that needs to be pitched. Both sites include a new widget which will make finding a product a lot easier too.

Despite how much we all hate this news, we need to realize we live in a manufactured world these days. These types of health scares are part of the price of convenience.
