You can see the items up close on March 19 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Walter Pownall Service Center, 11111 South Belcher Road in Largo. Pre-registration will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day.
You can also register on the day of the auction starting at 7:30 a.m. The auction starts at 8:30 a.m.
All items will be sold as is. Half of the cost must be paid on the day of the auction via cash, cashier’s check or business check with a pre-approved letter of guarantee. No personal checks will be accepted.
The balance is due by noon on March 22.
The district hopes the auction will raise between $50,000 and $75,000 this year, said Joe Zihala, the warehouse manager. It’s raised more than $200,000 in previous years when the district has had buses available for bidding, he said.
The money goes into the district’s general fund.

These drums are among the more than 200 items being auctioned off during the Pinellas County School Board public auction on Saturday, March 20, 2010.
