It’s About Time

I haven’t posted this week because frankly, I’ve been too depressed. Yes, I went past my due date. Right now it’s four days and counting. I will be induced on Friday morning. I’m a little scared, but my midwife assures me that since I’ve progressed, a small dosage of pitocin is all that’s required to kick-start my labor. She also said she wouldn’t be surprised if I went into labor tonight or tomorrow, so I still hold out hope! I plan to take my dog on a long walk tonight and again in the morning. Wish me luck. Next time I write, I will include a photo of my little one. I can’t wait to meet him/her!

I was 3 days overdue with my second child when I was induced. It was so quick, they started the pitocin at 9:30am and by 1:30 my son was born….and it only took 4 pushes! I hope it goes as easy for you as it did for me. The only drawback of pitocin is that the contractions are much stronger than natural ones so prepare yourself if you end up with an induction! Good luck!
