The kids are still out of school and probably getting antsy. Why not take them to the park for mini train weekend at Largo Central Park?

Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 and Sunday, Jan. 5, everyone ages 1 and older can ride the mini train for free.

The event regularly takes place on the first full weekend of each month and is approximately 1.2 miles long, winding through the landscape of the park. Rides are given until 4 p.m., weather permitting.

The rides are free, but they do accept donations to keep the program operating.

Largo Central Park is at 101 Central Park Drive in Largo.

Due to insurance restrictions, pregnant women are no longer permitted to ride the trains.
