Saylor Faith was born at 2:42 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11.
She was 6 pounds, 13 ounces and 19 inches long.
I can’t get over how tiny she is! She is pure joy. I am really appreciating every second of it this time because I remember how quickly this stage passes.

Here is a photo of Saylor on her second day of life at TGH. I also had my first daughter, Summer, at TGH and I can’t say enough good things about the nurses there.
Call me crazy, but I had a natural childbirth again. I admit, I did ask for an epidural this time (I wanted to rest so badly), but my midwife said I was really close to having my baby and she was right. My mom friends told me it was easier the second time around and that was definitely true in my case.
Here is a photo of my midwife, Gayle. I had my pre-natal care with the group of midwives at Women’s Health Care. Saylor is just minutes old in this photo.
Even though my pregnancy is over, I will continue blogging. There is still a lot of territory to cover: breastfeeding (ouch!), sibling rivalry (double ouch!), how to juggle everything, etc. I hope to gain some valuable insight from all the moms out there.

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter-She is beautiful! Congratulations on your natural childbirth. That is really awesome. I had two children with epidurals and two without and prefer natural any day. I hope that you girls will do some coverage on natural childbirth and the benefits because woman deserve the experience of bringing life into the world unmedicated. I applaud you!!

CONGRATULATIONS! SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!
It was so nice to read you went natural, that just doesn’t happen much anymore. When my children were born sixteen and eighteen years ago people said I was crazy to go without an epidural, but it was something I felt very strongly about. Good for you for holding on and being patient. Enjoy your new daughter.

Congrats! Good luck with the breastfeeding. For me the first couple months of breastfeeding were worse than the labor pains. I just weaned my 13 month old and I miss it so much! Just remember that the pain goes away and it does get better (that’s what everyone told me and I thought they were full of it, but they turned out to be right). Beautiful baby and beautiful name!
