I’m almost at the 6 month mark. My husband and I went to another check up this past Friday. The doctor told me that they would probably take out my cerclage stitch (for my incompetent cervix) three weeks early. That means the baby could come as soon as late October. I can hardly wait. I’m much bigger the THIRD go around.. and making it through the hot summer months is no party. I look forward to hearing from anyone out there in my shoes.. which speaking of feet.. mine are also growing!

I am 8 months pregnant and can feel the heat as well. I, thank God, have not been put on bedrest by doctors, but my mother has asked me to be so that I can hold out for her to be back home (Friday, she will be here). It is so warm out and in my house. My poor husband has to have blankets at night to keep warm. My feet have grown too. I went to get shoes about 1 month ago (already 1/2 size bigger), but now my feet swell so much during the day that flip-flops are the only ones that fit. I am enjoying this time though. My pregnancy has gone pretty smoothly since week 14, when the daily nausea ended.

Gayle,
I just wanted to congratulate you and your family. I’ve been watching you for a long time and think you’re great. God Bless and take it easy. Do you know if its a boy or girl yet? (:

Gayle,
I am in my 7th month and cannot wait for the baby to come! This is my first pregnancy and its been quite the ride! The heat is almost unbearable and the feet swelling, well not so fun. Despite all my complaints, my husband and I cannot be happier about the arrival of our little one. Congrats to you and your family!

So exciting about your pregnancy…you sure have that pregnancy glow…and I am sure it is very hard for you to get up so early and be cheerful every morning when you are probably so very tired. I work for an OB/GYN and swelling is common condition, especially in the good old hot summertime…but any signs of elevated blood pressure, headaches, dizziness or sudden severe swelling are a sign of pre-eclampsia…but just overall en- joy your pregnancy and get lots of rest.

I can understand what you’re going thru Gayle! I’m due in early November and almost at the 6 month mark as well. However, my doctor doesn’t expect me to make it past 32wks. I’m having identical twin girls and have already gone through Braxton Hicks and was admitted to L&D for Pre-Term Labor last week. The heat really doesn’t help at all either! My feel swell so bad and I can’t get comfortable! Tell Steve he needs to find us a little rain to cool off the afternoons! That would be heaven right now! Also, my OB told me bananas can help with the pain of swelling if you have any! Good luck!

My third pregnancy (she was born last July) was obviously, in the dead of summer, also. It was excruciating! I was huge. Everyone I came in contact with gave me the all-too-common question…“Twins?”...“NO.”, I would say. By my third month, I was already into maternity clothes. By my ninth, if I was at home…it was t-shirt and undies, due to the waist in my pants not stretching enough
I got up to 175lbs. I started at about 130lbs. After a year, I am not back to my ideal weight of 125 lbs. (I am still 142lbs), but vigorously working on it!
