I had to laugh when I got forwarded an e-mail about the Potty Express, complete with a training video.
As the mom of a two-year-old boy, I’m spending a lot of time shuttling my son to the potty. The good news: he knows that if he tries to go potty, he gets a sticker. The bad news: he wants stickers all the time.
The really bad news: he wants to stand up to pee. But he’s a few inches too short for that to work.
So I cracked up when I got the e-mail showing a cardboard, clip-on, disposable potty. You just hook it on the side of a toilet or urinal and let your little one whiz away. I asked for a sample, and it came in the mail this week.
Unfortunately, the thing ripped as I was bending it forward to create the bowl so I wasn’t able to have my son test it. I’m going to blame user-error. Now I know the amount of pressure needed isn’t quite as great as I had applied.
It’s created by Tampa-based Smart Life Enterprises and is billed as the hygienic way to potty train, because little ones don’t have to touch the actual potty. Once your little boy is done, you just dump the contents into the toilet and throw away the cardboard pee-catcher.
