Free wildflower and butterfly hike on Friday

Schools are closed on Friday, but kids in grades third through sixth can still learn about butterflies and metamorphosis at the Alafia River State Park.

Tour the butterfly and wildflower garden with a park ranger and color a butterfly fan craft project.

Two program times are available; 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Pre-registration is encouraged, call (813) 672-5320.

Admission to the park is $5 for a carload of up to 8 people. There is no fee for the butterfly program.
