Free fishing seminar and fun this weekend at Fort Desoto

Register online at by Saturday, Nov. 2 to spend the day having fun with recreational fishing experts at the 2nd Annual Fishing Extravaganza at Fort Desoto Park.

The event kicks off at noon on Sunday, Nov. 3 with free admission and parking, although there is a $5 fee per car to enter Fort Desoto.

Enjoy lunch and refreshments for $3 per person at the event, including hamburgers and hot dogs.

There will be fishing-related giveaways every hour and seminar topics include:
* Live versus artificial bait
* Trolling for grouper
* Cast net tips
* Deep sea fishing
* Scalloping and snorkeling
* Shark fishing
* Reel maintenance and more

At 2 p.m. there will be a kids-only clinic and the first 30 who sign up will receive a free t-shirt.

Fort De Soto Park is located at 3500 Pinellas Bayway S., Tierra Verde.

The event will take place at pavilions one and two.
