The local motion will be back again soon!

Free, guided “Do The Local Motion” walking tours are offered every other Friday from noon - 1 p.m. by the Tampa Downtown Partnership. The first one of the season is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4. The season runs through May, when it takes a hiatus because of steamy summer weather.

Interested walkers don’t need to RSVP, just show up and be ready to walk at the meeting place in Lykes Gaslight Square, on the corner of Kennedy Boulevard and Franklin Street on the first and third Friday of each month.

A different route and theme is offered each time, with guest tour guides offering their unique insights.  The tours are approximately one - two miles in length. The theme for the Oct. 4 tour is “Architectural Assets.”

Other themes through the end of the year include “Halloween Haunts,” “Tampa’s Illicit Past” and “Holiday Hop.”
