Barbie, the fashion icon who has had more than 100 careers, is helping to inspire a group of girls with some hands-on experience.
Mattel launched a contest Friday to find girls ages 6 to 14 to shadow one of Barbie’s 10 Women to Watch in 2010 and report about their experiences. Mattel will provide the winners with a video camera and digital camera to capture special moments and will pay travel costs for each girl, along with a parent or legal guardian.
After spending a day with their mentors, the contest winners will report back with photos, videos and a short essay about their day. They’ll also be invited to attend a special event on Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day, April 22.
