Hip hip hooray! Here’s what I’ve been waiting for. Babble just put out its 50 best iPhone apps for parents. Read the list
There are apps for grocery shopping, organizing schedules, making easy meals and making easy crafts. There are apps for locating bathrooms and potty training. And there are apps for keeping the kids entertained.

There’s a place to add your own favorite apps. I’ve added three that I like: Teach Me Kindergarten, which teaches sight words, addition, subtraction and spelling; Teach Me Toddler, which focuses on letters, phonics, numbers, shapes, colors and counting; and Intuition, which has great to-do list feature, party planning feature, kids activities’ list and more.
I have two more apps that are just for our area, which is why I didn’t submit them for the national list. The TBO garage sale app lets you find times and places of garage sales in Tampa Bay and the brand new, just-launched News Channel 8 Weather Shaker app is very cool. My kids love shaking it, and I love knowing whether it’s going to rain while I’m trying to run errands with two children in tow.
If you have ones you can’t live without, shoot me an email at bgaddis@tampatrib.com.
