Military admitted free to Bok Tower Gardens on Memorial Day

Free admission will be offered to members of all branches of the military, active, retired and disabled veterans with valid ID to Bok Tower Gardens on Memorial Day (May 27).
Half-hour concerts will be performed on the Singing Tower carillon at 1 and 3 p.m. with a musical salute to our nation’s heroes.
Bok Tower Gardens is at 1151 Tower Blvd Lake Wales, and is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Kids treated to free food, t-shirt and fun at Ikea

School is out on Monday, May 27 but kids still have somewhere to go to have fun.
The Ikea Tampa Kids Academy will be open and free for kids under 12.
All participants will enjoy a fun activity, Kids’ Academy t-shirt and a free kids meal in the restaurant.
Kids will get to commemorate Memorial Day by making an American flag.
Craft activities last about 20 minutes and are scheduled to start at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Exit Lobby.

Free golfing fun for kids this summer

Now through August, kids can spend their summer days hitting golf balls - for free.
Ace Golf is offering kids ages 5 to 15 a free small bucket of balls to hit on the range at each of their five locations.
No purchase is necessary, but an adult must accompany the child. The child is issued a punch card to redeem the free range balls.
Ace Golf Ranges are located at 820 S. Kings Ave., Brandon and 12910 Boyette Road, Riverview.

In addition to the free range ball offer, kids can play golf for free this summer with a paying adult at Pebble Creek, Wentworth

Bok Tower Gardens is treating members of all branches of the military, active, retired and disabled veterans to free admission for Armed Forces Day on Saturday, May 18.
Valid military ID must be presented at the ticket counter.
Visitors can stroll the lushly landscaped grounds or be entertained by one of the two planned carillon concerts at 1 and 3 p.m.
General admission is normally $12 for adults and $3 for children.

Pet-A-Palooza is free fun for both people and pets

Pets looking to get out of the house for some free entertainment may want to head over to Pet-A-Palooza at Raymond James Stadium.
Instead of sitting by the door waiting for their master to come home, leashed and well-behaved pets are welcome to attend the free expo - along with their owners - on Saturday, May 18.
The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be lots for both pets and humans to do including pet contests – best trick, doggie/owner look-a-like contest, Mr. and Miss, hairiest dog and more. Dogs can enjoy the agility courses and splash pools or get their photos taken.
Kids can play in the children’s area with inflatable bounce houses and other activities.
Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel, Twig and Chili the Skateboarding Shelties and The Dock Dogs will be on hand to perform their special skills.
There will also be opportunities to adopt pets onsite through local rescue groups.
