Thanks for stopping by, Scott. Sad to see you go, but glad that you’re heading somewhere you’re happy. Good luck at UF and GO BULLS!

It was also Bill Murray’s eulogy at the funeral of his good friend John Belushi. Good luck in Gainesville!

Hey Dan, thanks for being one of the regulars on the blog…appreciated your input and no-bull approach..

Bolting for the big time, eh? Well, you came to us from the Noles and you’re leaving us for the Gators; I guess that puts us in good company. If asked about you, I will only say this: He was a slob. Did you ever see him eat? Starving children could fill their bellies on the food that ended up on his beard and clothes. Dogs would gather to watch him eat. I never understood gluttony, but I hated it…I hated that about you. He enjoyed disgusting people, being disgusting; that thrill of offending people and making them uncomfortable. He was despicable. He will not be missed.

Nothing but the best to you Scott. You’ve written before that you have a family. The job at gatorzone.com could very well be more stable than working in a two-paper town covering the beat of a team that is one Big 10 addition from being relegated back to non-BCS.
Gainesville is also a great place to raise kids.
I am a big fan.
Thanks for all the coverage you provided to my alma mater and my favorite college teams. . . . may the wind stay at your back.

Thanks guys.
And Hector, I appreciate your regular participation on the blog and on Twitter. You are definitely one of the fans I enjoyed the most on my time on the beat.
Like I said, I fully expected to be here longterm, but this opportunity came along and I couldn’t pass it up for family reasons.
The Trib’s coverage will not lag; they know the interest in USF athletics is at an all-time high.

Item of note to the Trib’s management…
I hope you get someone who is dedicated to covering USF athletics like Brett was and Scott showed but at the same time someone who is longterm. Us regulars, in an odd way, develop “relationships” with these folks so lets try to get someone who will stick around.
Also, I hope you guys move fast. The season is now here and we (fans, Alumni, students) don’t want to miss anything. We missed a few weeks of coverage last season….please don’t let it happen again.
Thanks.
