Today, I visited the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay to tour the facility and learn more about the services offered to the community.

From offering sexual abuse treatment services to support for the elderly to medical transportation services and crisis intervention, the center offers a safe haven for many in need.

During the tour, which was somber by virtue of its dedication to mental wellness, I perked up when I saw Courtney.

Courtney was a seeing eye dog that didn’t make it. So she gets a little excited and confused when she sees flashes. She’s still adorable!

Courtney has an amazing ability to sense when victims are afraid to speak. She’s trained to always remain lower than people she’s with so as not to intimidate.

And all she wants is a little affection.
