Weekly Twilight Market To Offer Nighttime Organic, Local Products [The Roosevelt 2.0 Offers Retail]

The operator of several Tampa-area outdoor daytime markets is partnering with a special events space in Ybor City to create a nighttime weekly market that showcases local products made and created by organic vendors.

Tiffany Ferrecchia, co-owner and director of Tampa Bay Markets Inc., said the new Twilight Market on Tuesday nights at The Roosevelt 2.0 aims to connect the public with locally farmed products, as well as environmentally conscious vendors who also focus on sustainability.

The market will operate from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays inside and behind the 5,600-square-foot space at 1812 N. 15th St. in Ybor City.

“We’re partnering with the Roosevelt to create a space that will support educational classes and provide a space for vendors to sell food and other products to the public,” Ferrecchia said.

Twilight MarketThe nighttime market will serve Ybor residents as well as nighttime workers in Ybor who could shop on their way to their job or during a break.

Ferrecchia modeled the Twilight Market on the Audubon Park Community Market, a gathering of growers, ranchers, fishermen, chefs, artists, crafters and musicians held on Monday nights north of Orlando in Winter Park.

“They have a really cool community market,” she says. “They’re killing it on Monday nights in a parking lot.”

Vendors at the Twilight Market will include Jon and Debbie Butts of EcoFarm in Plant City, Willow LaMonte of Willow Herbal Delight Gardens in Valrico, Whitwam Organics or Tampa and 20 Shekels Bread of Clearwater.

Food vendors such as fusion taco makers Alligator Pear and Sausage Laboratory, a meat provider that works with local pork farmers to create sausage from hormone-free pigs, also will sell ready-to-eat food at the first market. There also will be crafts for sale and live music.

The market will give people an opportunity in the middle of the week to connect with vendors whom they couldn’t otherwise buy from, says Roosevelt 2.0 founder Bryan Roberts.

“The vendors are all local, and with the Roosevelt trying to promote localism at every turn, this is a good fit,” Roberts said. “One of the things we’re strong on is the local food movement.”
