Weekend Eats

On Mondays over at my Twitter blog, I ask people what the best thing they’ve had to eat or drink over the weekend. Part of it is intended to be a glimpse into the dining habits of my followers. The other part is, I’m just nosy.

Invariably, everyone skunks me with the food they have. Everyone thinks food writers eat nothing but fois gras and Veuve. Not so.

This week’s reponses from the Stew posse:

@gourmetcook Oyster Po’Boy with remoulade sauce and red beans and rice with andouille and an ice cold Abita

@OliverRanch Grilled Porterhouse rubbed w/garlic, evoo, salt, pepper paste, Sliced over arugula topped w/ parm regiano shavings, squeezed lemon.

@cattysheba Slow-cooked pork tenderloin (shredded) in mojo marinade (my recipe) on flour tortilla w/ homemade salsa & guac.

@joelkodner Ate crap all weekend but looking forward to a nice glass of Glenfiddich tonight (thx for the bottle, @neilkod!)

@TammySassin Nonna’s Ricotta cheesecake.

@tarabiek I’m trying to single handedly bring back the Harvey Wallbanger! Friday night—-they were good!!!

@WildfireBelle A Mocha Joe from Burger King. What can I say? I know how to party.

@chefgui best thing i drank this weekend and probably this whole year! http://twitpic.com/4zet4

@JenniferPerillo Bourbon Key Lime Spritzers. Fresh key lime juice+simple syrup+sparkling water on rocks w/ bourbon splash.

@BarbaraNixon Pumpkin seeds & a Michelob Ultra at the #NASCAR race at Darlington on Friday night, under the lights.

@CarolynJung Jacques Torres crispy candy cereal bar I brought home with me from New York.

@Jen_Henderson An organic beef bbqed burger on fresh bun w/ lettuce, cheese, mater and bbq sauce/mayo. I’m a simple gal…

@joefoodie I had a delicious Hennepin saison last night. Made some decent beef enchiladas on Saturday. #beer #food

@StefTampa Home-grilled NY Strip and oven-baked crab-stuffed-Tilapia from Land & Sea
