I always use coupons when I shop at the supermarket. But I had no idea Cyberspace offered ways to save big bucks on clothes. The secret is using online coupon codes.
“A lot of people aren’t even aware these codes exist,” says Barry Boone, creator of currentcodes.com, one of dozens of Web sites that lists coupons for various stores online. “If people take the time to look they can really save some money.”
The coupons are just like the ones you clip from the newspaper. You simply go to a site and click on a category or specific retailer. Click on the discount you’re interested in, up pops the code, and you’re taken to the retailer’s site. Enter the coupon code when you check out and your discount is automatically applied.
Currentcodes.com works with more than 1,800 online stores, including Kohl’s, Neiman Marcus, Ann Taylor, Old Navy and Gap, offering 30, 40, 50 percent off and more. The site is free and there’s no registration required. You can also find beauty stores on the site, including drugstore.com and beauty.com.
New coupons are added every day, Boone says.
Sites like Currentcodes.com, RetailMeNot.com and CouponCabin.com can also save you some money.
