It would be easy to think that the only thing happening in higher education these days is the question of whether to turn USF Polytechnic into an independent university.
That is the big issue before the board at its meeting in Boca Raton today but the board has a full agenda, as it does at every meeting.
This morning its academic affairs committee approved a request for a new PhD in environmental engineering for USF.
Later it will consider several universities’ requests to offer “market-rate tuition” programs. Those are primarily online graduate programs in high demand majors, such as public administration at USF.
The Poly issue is coming up at 2:30 this afternoon.
If you want to follow it, and anything else that comes up in the meeting, go here. It’s being live streamed.
