USF is displaying some of its coolest inventions for today’s kickoff of Research One, the annual, university-wide celebration of innovation.
There’s the AbleNook: Modular Dwelling, a fast-and-easy-to-erect building.
And The Skate Case by Looshes Labs, a skateboard and briefcase in one.
And a hands-free wheel chair that responds to subtle body movements.
Merry Lynn Morris patented her idea
Everything starts at 2 p.m. with an address by Curtis R. Carlson, president and CEO of SRI International. Carlson led the development of high-resolution HDTV and has helped found more than 12 companies.
He’s an inventor/entrepreneur if there ever was one.
