The national board of the USF Alumni Association has checked in with its disapproval of the proposed Polytechnic split – joining faculty and student groups from every campus.
Association board president Rich Heruska sent a letter to the state Board of Governors and Chancellor Frank Brogan raising questions about the cost and what Poly students and faculty want.
“In order to continue to attract top faculty, staff and students from around the world, and to cultivate loyalty and pride among current and future alumni, USF Polytechnic must remain as an integral part of the strong University of South Florida system,” he wrote.
The university board plans to vote on Wednesday.
