Upton bats lead-off

ST. PETERSBURG - The Rays are down to six games remaining in 2009, and they’ll need to win two of them to finish above .500.

Rookie Wade Davis, who pitched a four-hit shutout against the Orioles on Sept. 17 in Baltimore, will face them again tonight. Baltimore has lost 11 in a row.

Shortstop Jason Bartlett gets tonight off, and center fielder B.J. Upton will get his old lead-off spot back in the order. Reid Brignac will get a game at short.

Here’s the lineup:

B.J. Upton, CF
Carl Crawford, LF
Evan Longoria, 3B
Ben Zobrist, 2B
Willy Aybar, 1B
Pat Burrell, DH
Gregg Zaun, C
Gabe Gross, RF
Reid Brignac, SS

Wade Davis, RHP
