Dear Readers,
This is Mike’s wife Claudia. I got a message from Mike saying that he is having a wonderful time. Last night was cold but he is prepared for that and was warm as toast. He is having difficulty with cell phone service and the computer is also giving him trouble but he is diligently working to solve the problem. Please stay tuned. We are expecting word from him soon. Your interest and comments fuel his determination. Thank you.

Thanks for the update. I shared the videos with my 5th graders and we are looking forward to following Mr. DeWitt’s progress. The kids are excited about sending emails. Thanks!

Thanks, Claudia, for the update. It’s exciting to travel the Trail with you folks. I’d love to do it. An old Eagle Scout, I remember my 14-mile hike for second-class badge was in a canoe on Sodus Bay, NY.
It’sgreat traveling with you, Mike.
Good Hiking,
Wally

Mike-
Wishing you a wonderful hike. Part of me is very jealous. You are enjoying a really great adventure in our beautiful state. It will be quite an achievement when you are done. However, at the end of each day, I am thankful for a warm shower and other indoor conveniences --- while you are not, as fortunate. I do look forward, though, to reading about how each day is going for you. In this way, I, too can feel a little part of your adventure. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Best of everything,
Luly A. Socias

Howza hike, Mike?
I read about your trek in the Tribune. I featured you in the introduction to my monthly church newsletter article.
My son,Eli,just completed his first 10 mile hike last weekend. So,it sounds like you’re doing 17 of those back-to-back. That’s dedication.
I wish I was there with you,so you could teach me about the Church of the Front End Shimmy. We could sing the Star Spangled Banner together again.
Any possibility of hooking up with you for a few miles?
