With the New Year just days away, there are a slew of fashion organizations dooling out their picks for best and worst fashion trends of the year. So I decided to compile my own list of trends I hope will stick around in the New Year, and some I hope never to see again.
Let’s start with the best.
Scarves—There are two types of scarves; scarves to keep you warm and fashion scarves. My Beauty Board cohort Sara Minton wears fashion scarves—and she wears them well. She knots them close to the neck, lets the knot hang mid-chest and wraps them once around the neck letting the fringe hang. And she mostly wears light-weight cottons or rayon scarves so she doesn’t die from a heat stroke.
Killer stilletos -- Even though I've mostly been shut-out of this trend -- I hoover around six feet and wear a size 11 shoe (which jumps to a size 12 during that time of the month) I can still appreciate a stylish shoe trend. And a girl dream can't she???

Colored tights—Talk about changing the look of an outfit in a flash. They can also transitions a warm weather outfit to winter with ease. And they can in an array of colors, textures and styles. Let’s hope this trend stays hot next year.
Big, bold, chunky jewelry—The bigger the better as far as I’m concerned. The look can be inexpensive (try Stein Mart and Marshall’s) or adorned with semi-precious stones. And you can pair them with a T-shirt and jeans or an LBD for instant glam.
The worst

Crocs - Style guru Tim Gunn summed it up best when he said, “Comfortable? Yes. But when I look down at my foot I don’t want to see a hoof.” Amen Tim.
Ed Hardy—I recently saw a middle-aged man wearing an Ed Hardy shirt at the mall and I wanted to put him across my knee and give him a good spanking. Who wants a print like that competing with their face? And more imporatnly, who wants to look like John Gosselin? Anyway, Scott Moore, owner of Urban Body in Tampa, says this trend wore out it’s welcome a long time ago. We pray it stays that way.

Thigh high boots—I love me some knee high boots, but unless you’re Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman” —or you’re involved in the same line of work—save the thigh-high boots for role playing or Halloween.

Ugg—It’s short for ugly. Really. It is.
Did I miss any? Let me know.
