Through May 30, any pet spayed or neutered at the Animal Coalition of Tampa’s Spay-Neuter Clinic will get a free microchip with the clip. Microchips provide a permanent form of identification that can ensure you’re reunited with your pet, whether it runs away or you’re separated in an emergency, such as a hurricane.
Appointments are required; call (813) 250-3900. Current rabies vaccination is also required, but it’s available at the clinic, 1719 W. Lemon St., Tampa. Spay-neuter surgeries cost $40 to $95, or less for low-income Hillsborough County residents. Go to actampa.org for information.
