Sick of Being Sick

I’ve been sick since the last week in May. It started with flu-like aches and fatigue, moved into my sinuses and I eventually lost my voice. (Anyone who heard my reports during the All Children’s Hospital Telethon last month knows how hoarse and raspy I sounded.) A dry cough followed for a couple of weeks and eventually turned into a nasty head cold that hasn’t let up for three solid weeks. I talked with a guy who said he had the same thing for seven weeks. That means I must be nearing the end. And, yes, I went to the doctor and have been taking antibiotics. My co-workers are sick of hearing me blowing my nose and coughing. Frankly, so am I.
