A thong can be a dangerous fashion trend. There’s not much fabric involved, which can lead to some serious chaffing; You always feel like you’re walking around with a permanent wedgie; And on a cold day, you can catch an awful chill across your buttocks. And face it, unless you’re a Brazilian model who wears a size 0, you’re just not going to look good in one.
Now, it looks like thongs can also be a hazard to your health. Marcrida Patterson says she was wronged by her thong. The Los Angeles woman is suing Victoria’s Secret because she was dinged by her G-string. Well, it wasn’t actually the dental floss that did the damage. It was one of the decorative pieces that popped off while she was getting dressed and hit her in the eye, causing not one, but three cuts in her cornea, she says.
Patterson, 52, got herself a lawyer and is suing Victoria’s Secret for an undisclosed amount of money. Hey, beauty hurts, but visible panty lines are painful, too. And at Patterson’s age, she should probably start wearing real panties.

Hah, seriously, who inventedd such an uncomfortable undergarment? Still, what would women do without it? Especially since jeans are so low and many summer dresses are made of revealing fabrics.
Cloe, you’re so right - most thongs are not made to flatter the average woman. But, I have found that lace thongs with wide bands create a more subtle panty line and have a bit more class.
As for the Victoria’s Secret woman - she’s a perfect example of people going lawsuit-crazy. Accidents happen. And what was she doing getting little charms and doo-dads on her thong for? hah, at 52, does she really want rhinestone and heart, etc., shapes popping through her pants at work?!
