Hello to all. I hope that everyones well. I feel great! How nice to awake while it was still dark on Saturday knowing that in just an hour or so,my fellow losers and I would be together once again putting it all out there in the name of exercise. I must say that I was hoping for minimal uphill running as the bells still toll from the stairway from hades race. Much to my delight there was only a very few hills.
I really wanted to test myself this time and see how all the treadmilling and biking have paid off. I’m here to tell you that it has. I started the race pretty strong and jogged as long as I could. When I got tired, I power walked. Some hotshots were galloping by me like they were on fire, but I thought to myself that this is NOT chariots of fire! I’m gonna do my thing. Marty and Jon were suportive as ever as they passed me. You guys are the best! As I finished the first lap, The thought of doing it again was painful, but determination once again kicked in. I really wanted to beat my time from gaspirilla. Patty Kim and Nancy and our photo guy were inspiring me to keep going. 28 minutes in, I wanted to do better on the second lap around. Jog, walk, Jog, walk, a little water, a little encouragement to Danny(you go boy) next thing you know I can see the finish line. I crossed it at 48 minutes. 10 minutes better than the other 5k! Praise God!
It’s a very exiting time in my life now with so many changes happening. Not only with this challenge but spiritually as well as God continues to…
show me how real He is. He has blessed me with getting to know all the people associated with this challenge. He’s showed me that putting Him first and allowing Him to work through me is a huge blessing. The rewards are great, the satisfaction of accomplishment greater, knowing He is in control of this challenge and our lives...the greatest. I pray that you are moved by His spirit and soon realize His magnificence. Thanks for reading. God bless you and keep you....In Christ......Marty G.

O.K., my love… that’s 2 5K’s now that you’ve run without me and I still have no answer from you about joining me for the 1/2 marathon next January. What do you say? Are you in? Can you keep up with me? I’d say based on your progress with the races you’ve completed so far, nothing can hold you back! I am remarkably proud of the strides you’ve made and the humility you’ve displayed to inspire those around you. God has truly blessed me with you!
Peace,
Your girl always
