Penny’s a Nurture And Hold (NAH): Nah, I won’t pull that out yet, it’s still got a green shoot. She likes dragonflies, lady bugs and new stuff only after weeding, pruning and fertilizing.
Kim’s a Want It Now (WIN): Everything pretty, everything now. She will resort to full-spectrum insecticides in desperate situations, and believes it’s her duty and right to buy new plants every weekend.
Both advocate Plant Choice (SOMEthing besides crotons. Please!), lots of color and low maintenance. We don’t agree on everything, but we’re smart enough to learn from each other - and from you.

A lot of our Dirt posts seem to be more about critters than plants. We’ve written about squirrels, lubbers, ladybugs, cats, dogs, chickens … well, you get the idea.
It’s still about the garden, though, ya know?
So I’m going to go into the weekend with these photos of a lizard I watched for quite some time Sunday as I sat relaxing beneath our pergola.
I have two mirrors out there – both pretty tiny.

This guy (or girl, I don’t judge) managed to find them both. I imagine he thought he’d made a friend.

Every time I catch my reflection in one of these mirrors, it’s a fright. (Bright natural light, sweaty, dirty – not my best look.) But this lizard was digging what he saw.

Finally, though, he’d had enough of himself, or of me stalking him, and he took off.

Hope you all find some time to reflect this weekend!

Nice photos, Kim. After a long day of gardening, it’s so relaxing to sit back with a cold beverage and watch the birds, squirrels and yes, the lizards, too!
