@nolamaven - Vanilla ice cream filled donut with bananas foster from @BlueDotDonuts at @PoBoyFest.

Take a gander at that bad boy in the photo above.

That there is a vanilla ice cream-filled donut with bananas foster from Blue Dot Donuts at the Oak Street Po-Boy Fest in New Orleans.

My Twitter friend Susan Whelan (@nolamaven) contributed that photo to this week’s Weekend Eats roll call on Twitter and Facebook.

I like donuts. I like Bananas Foster. I like vanilla ice cream. The idea that all three would hold a summit simultaneously in my stomach is almost too much to comprehend.

Susan also sent photos of a Lobster Po-Boy and a BBQ Oyster Po-Boy.

Susan really knows how to eat. Even better, she knows how to share it on Mondays.

Sara Foster’s Southern Kitchen” and “Tupelo Honey Cafe; Spirited Recipes from Asheville’s New South Kitchen.”

For her effort, Susan take’s this week’s first prize. She will be receiving a copies of “Sara Foster’s Southern Kitchen” and “Tupelo Honey Cafe; Spirited Recipes from Asheville’s New South Kitchen.” Both are outstanding books.

For a fascinating story about the history of the po-boy sandwich, click here. Just knowing that such a festival exists makes the world a better place for me.

Other Weekend Eats contributions this week include:

@abaesel2 - Lamb ossobuco, polenta mozzarella flatcakes, avo/tom/cucumber balsamic salad, berries & cream.

@terrysimpson - Chicken fennel sausage with hand rolled pasta. Mozzarella tomato salad & profiteroles

@sekimori - Beef carpaccio, sea bass, smoked gouda mac & cheese & cheesecake at @MaliosPrime Thanksgiving, shmanksgiving.

@tampawinewoman - Peking Duck @zenforrest

Soo Yi-Thompson - Beef noodle soup - at Wat Tampa’s Sunday Market.

@TaylorEason - Grilled and marinated Sonoma County grass fed lamb paired with Martini Cabernet Franc. Two great tastes that… you get it.

Here is the rest of this week’s contributions. Try not to drool. (To see a description, click on each photo.)

Ha!  That’s funny that Susan is your twitter friend.  I knew her well when I lived in NOLA.  Small world, huh?
