My secret plan to infiltrate all Tampa Bay area kickball circles seems to be working.

I got an evite the other day for an upcoming kickball tournament to benefit Make-A-Wish. Here’s a shout out to GORDON and the GREEN MACHINE!

It’s the 4th Annual Kick a Ball and Make-A-Wish put on by Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon.

WHAT: 4th Annual Krewe Kickall Challenge! Kick a Ball and Make-A-Wish!

WHEN: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 17 (Saturday)

WHERE: Gadsden Park, 6901 S. MacDill Ave. (south end near the AFB), Tampa

TO BENEFIT: Make-A-Wish Foundation of Sarasota/Tampa Bay

WHO: 12 teams of 10 to 15 players wanted

COST: $30 per person or $300 for a team of 10; BEFORE May 2, $25 per person or $250 for a team of 10

TO REGISTER: active.com Kick a Ball and Make-A-Wish by May 10 OR send a check or money order made out to “Krewe of Brigadoon” with a list of names on the team to Brigadoon Kickball, 4351 Seagull Drive, New Port Richey FL 34652

AFTER PARTY: Elmer’s, 5206 S. MacDill Ave., Tampa ($2 Bud, Coors; $6.50 pitchers; 15 percent off food)

Brigadoon’s goal is to raise over $5,000 for Make-A-Wish. And yes, there’s a trophy to win. All players will receive lunch, T-shirts and goody bags.

A few things to remember:

-This is a coed tournament.

-No more than two males may bat consecutively. If three men bat consecutively, an automatic out is recorded in between the second and third male kickers.

-There can be a max of 10 fielders, and there cannot be more than five men in the field.

-A team can have an unlimited number of field substitutions. A player is free to re-enter the field once substituted for at any time. However, the kicking lineup will remain the same.

Unfortunately I’ll be out of town this weekend, but I hope you decide to kick some balls for a good cause.
