When you think fashion, you usually don’t think Kentucky Fried Chicken.

But the chicken king is on the hunt for budding designers. No, they’re not looking to give Col. Sanders a makeover (although he has had the same look for as long as I can remember).  They want designers to take part in its annual Chari-T’s program.

Through July 10, fried chicken fashionisitas with some creativity can submit their designs to KFC.com for a chance to win a cash prize, a trip to New York City during Fashion Week 2010, a year of free KFC (yummy) and the opportunity to have their shirts sold on KFC.com with the net proceeds going to Colonel’s Scholars, a charity providing funds to underprivileged students.

The top 12 designs will be posted online July 13, and America gets to vote on which three are the finger lickin’ best.

So, wipe those greasy fingers and start designing.
