Could it be Jean Paul Gaultier’s upscale haute couture is feeling the downturn of the economy? Who knows. But we’re happy to hear one of Madonna’s favorite designers is heading to a Target near you (Surely you remember the cone-shaped tata’s the Material Girl donned while performing “Like A Virgin” on one of her tours?)
The legendary French designer is the third in a series of Designer Collaborations, a program that features well-established designers who draw inspiration from a collaborative partner, muse or creative element. The exclusive Jean Paul Gaultier for Target collection pays tribute to the American woman – celebrating the forces of style both past and present in American pop culture.
Gaultier joins Alexander McQueen and Anna Sui who were also featured in the program.
Gaultier’s collection will launch on Target.com and in more than 250 Target stores nationwide March 7, 2010 and will be available through April 11, 2010. And most importantly: it will be affordable for the rest of us.
Thanks, Jean Paul.
