Drought: Watering Restrictions And Tips

OK, I’m hooked on the rusty fish in the picture Penny posted from the Keys. Somebody thought it might have come from Michael’s, so I thought I’d check it out.
I didn’t find that fish, but I did find this!

Guess what I’ll be doing this weekend?
There are directions online at http://www.michaels.com/art/online/projectsheet?pid=21044d. The instructions are for a small fish (using two 1 1/2-inch terra cotta pots and two 2-inch terra cotta pots), but I assume you could do the exact same thing with bigger pots.
So adorable!

If it keeps raining like this, I’ll definitely get this little project done tomorrow. (Although I’m not the craftiest person in the world, so I’m not sure it will look as good as the picture.)
Penny, you must be thrilled that we’re getting all this rain, since you’re not home to water. But I’m bumming—they postponed the opening of the downtown farmers market to next week! That was going to be the highlight of my day.

I love it the funkier the better I say! if not for the fact that the rusty fish was a father’s day gift I would just give it to you. My Daughter gave it to me on the first fathers day after her son was born that is how I am so sure it was ten years ago! and if I gave it to some one I would be a dead man walking! Hey Kim make sure you do post photo’s looking forward to seeing what you do with this

I’m gonna bet you go for the bigger pots, Kim, and that is SO perfect for your garden.
I’m with Susan: Wanna see pix when you’re done!

That’s really cute, Kim. We’ll want to see your version, of course.

Cute fish update: I spent Sunday pulling down wallpaper in my bathroom, so I didn’t get to this project. Maybe this weekend. The good news is, I think I can recycle some clay pots to make a small one. Still have to buy the paints, though.
I fear walking into Michael’s. It’s kind of like Target—you go in expecting to buy one little thing and come out $50 (at least) lighter.
